Freije, Margaret COHOES
Margaret Freije, beloved sister of Fred and Mary Freije, died on Tuesday, May 31, 2011. Born in Troy, N.Y., on February 13, 1920, she was the daughter of Fred and Mary Ferris Freije. She attended St. Mary's School in Troy before moving to Cohoes, in 1937. Margaret worked as a clerk and records keeper for the State of New York. She retired in 1975 and enjoyed a long, happy retirement. Margaret enjoyed traveling and shopping dates with her sister Mary. Margaret's quiet moments were spent reading and writing poetry. She was proud to have some of her poetry published. She was the devoted, loving sister of Fred Freije and Mary Freije of Cohoes and the late George, Philip, Charles, and Joseph Freije and Theresa Freije Luke; aunt of William Luke and Ann Marie Luke Ballard of Latham, Charles Luke of Lake George, Fred Freije of Troy, and Barbara Freije Preston of Albany. Also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. from Marra Funeral Home and at 11 a.m. from Holy Trinity Church Cohoes. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy. Calling hours will be Thursday from 5-7 p.m.
