HADDAD, Evelyn M. Evelyn M. Haddad, 84, of Willimantic, passed away Wednesday, (October 11, 2006), in St. Joseph Living Center in Windham. Evelyn was the widow of Louis S. Haddad. She was born October 28, 1921 in Troy, NY the daughter of John and Amelia Ferris. She graduated from the Carnegie School of Nursing in Boston with a Bachelor of Science degree. She earned a Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Connecticut State College. Evelyn worked as a nurse at the Windham Community Memorial Hospital for many years, and spent 21 years teaching in the Mansfield, school system. Evelyn was an amazingly independent, caring and loving mother and grandmother. She lived her life filled with laughter, dignity and grace. She was liked by everyone. She had a quick wit and was everyone's counselor, imparting great wisdom only when asked. Evelyn's ability to stay neutral and still relate to people was extraordinary. The virtues she taught her children were those of family unity, unconditional love, strength, optimism and faith. She enjoyed playing tennis, dancing and reading. She will be profoundly missed. She leaves her sons, Robert L. Haddad of Columbia, and Paul L. Haddad of Cheshire. She also leaves eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Frederick J. Ferris of Bethesda, MD and her son, Frederick L. Haddad of Willimantic. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 14, at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church in Willimantic. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery in Windham. The family will receive friends Friday, from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Bacon Funeral Home, 71 Prospect St. Willimantic.
