Freije, Joseph P. WATERFORD Joseph P. Freije, 76, of Waterford and Port Orange, Fla., passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy. Born in Troy, February 16, 1933, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary Ferris Freije. He was a graduate of Cohoes High School and went on to graduate from Hudson Valley Community College in 1955 with a degree in mechanical engineering. Joe owned and operated Custom Cooling and Heating Service in Waterford for many years before retiring to Fla. Along with his interest in his business, Joe was passionately interested in the financial and real estate markets. He was equally passionate about music, dancing, attending concerts and travel. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Mary Parras Freije, who died in 1979. In 2007, he married Norma Eaglin of Port Orange. They enjoyed a wonderful life wintering in Fla. and summering in Upstate N.Y. He is survived by his loving wife, Norma Eaglin Freije; her daughter, Shelley Galapir; and her children, Brianna and Ryan. He was the brother of Fred, Margaret and Mary Freije, all of Cohoes and the late George, Phillip and Charles Freije and Theresa Freije Luke. He was uncle of William Luke and Ann Marie Luke Ballard of Latham, Charles Luke of Lake George, Fred Freije of Troy and Barbara Freije Preston of Albany. He is also survived by several great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family.
