Seventeen year old Fuad Freije arrived to Ellis Island in 1903. One by one,he and his family members
left their beloved country of Lebanon. At the time Lebanon, then part of Syria was under the rule of Ottoman Empire.
Many Lebanese, Maronite Christians fled their homeland for religious and political freedom. Freedom was the promise
